Yesterday, Amir came to dc! It was really really great to see him. We have been friends for such a long time (by long time I mean since high school because everything before that is so not in my short-term or even long-term memory anymore). It was so much fun and it was really good to catch up.

True to form, after picking him up, my Garmin GPS (whoa! You like that product placement? That’s my marketing degree coming out!) decided to have a fitful seizure and sent us on a round-about route back to Rossyln from Adams Morgan. Upon arrival, we hung out in my apartment and then happy hour at Piola. Anyways, our original plan was to go and get madly intoxicated. We ended up having dinner and drinks at Piola, then heading back to my apartment and watching “Birdcage.” It is one of the BEST movies ever. Even though I have it practically memorized line by line, it still makes me laugh uncontrollably every time I see it.

With Amir, it doesn’t matter how many months we are apart because as soon as we hang out again it is as if no time has passed. That’s what true friends are; people who have become family. (ANNDDD Diana has reached a new level of cheesiness). And it was really good to see him happy. (oh wait. NOW I have reached the utmost level of cheesiness).

Stole SATC Seasons 1-7 from Stephanie. That is what is keeping me sane while I live my life of no television or internet. DEPRESSING.

My car is now exhibiting true signs of necrotizing fascitis as more of the interior is sloughing off. When I go back to Cali in August, I am going to go test-drive cars. I feel Benzie is not going to last much longer…and I really want to be prepared to buy when that time of death comes. Sadness!

Weather in VA soo reminds me of cali! Even tho I miss home so much I cant wait for a bit of it to come visit me in exactly a week

On the drive home from work, I was sitting in traffic and then was forced to move into the grass on the side of the road because an ambulance and fire engine decided to squeeze by me. About 5 cars ahead of me, they decided to SHUT down the freeway. What was the hold up? A FENDER BENDER! honestly I thought Id see some ER/Greys Anatomy sh** but all I got was some dented metal. What a downer. 

Finals wrap up tomorrow and I have just realized that I will be forced to drink copious amounts of alcohol for exactly 10 days (i.e. until graduation) while having to simultaneously attend work 8-5. G-d and moses please be with me.  

I get to sleep in (by 1 extra hr) tomorrow! yyayyyy!

Note to self: dc metro is horrific. For poop’s bday, everyone was going to Alamo grille to celebrate avec margaritas and delicious tex-mex, and I didn’t really want to drive my car into the city (considering the fact I keep getting TICKETS). I took the metro and was STUCK on it for 45 minutes. Some guy got “severely injured” at the Arlington cemetery stop (as told to us by metro police) so we had to wait…forever. Of course a major metro causality occurs during rush hour…I mean it would just be ILLOGICAL for it to occur during downtime. Then on the way BACK, there was metro construction so I had to wait another 45 minutes from pentagon city to crystal city to move (which is a realistic 5 minutes walk from each other). I really feel that next time I want to be cheap and save $$ I will just WALK to DC. This is what I get for trying to be cognizant of the gas prices and ENVIRONMENT. I have a new approach:my next car will be a gas-guzzler and I will drive it nonstop!
Despite public transportation woes, Cinco de mayo was fantastic: margaritas, fajitas, great company J.
 
I also have become somewhat of an insomniac. I took it upon myself to watch “The Grudge” alone…late at night…I just couldn’t stop! It was addicting! So now I keep having nightmares that some creepy Japanese cursed ghost is going to come drag me away…though it probably would not be as glamorous as Sarah Michelle Gellar makes it seem on the big screen. Ughhh girl needs her beauty sleep!

Unless the title was to be “how to get ure teenager pregnant: 10 steps to being an underage baby mama” or “chicken soup for the soul: my daughter went nuts and got committed” I doubt it would be a best seller.

Recent occurrances that people have yet to explain to me:

1. Miley Cyrus…leave her alone people. girls not even showing any booty. the last time I FREAKED OUT i just kept looking DOWN. The only thing that people should be talking about is that she’s a bazillionaire at the age of 15 and I cant even afford those shoes ive been drooling over and im almost 22. seriously. 

2. Mariah Carey + Nick Cannon=publicity. first of all, PRENUP?! even Britney Spears got herself together pre-head shave to properly assess that situation with K-Fed. Wasn’t Nick Cannon a zygote for the first 10 years that Mariah was famous? AND he totally re-used the engagement ring he gave Selita E-Banks…yea nice ring but so not ok. Girl’s dont like sloppy seconds…even in the form of expensive jewelry.  

3.Schenley Fire: Good riddance…that dorm is a disaster. Bel had 24 fix-it requests the first week she lived there. I wonder how GW is going to spin it…George Forman was responsible again?? Dont worry, being the picture addict I am, I totally have photographic documentation.

New favorite pizza: manny and olga’s pepperoni and jalapeno. best served at 4:30 am by the Russian Embassy at the Calvert mmmmm. 

Currently watching “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”. No matter how much I think Angelina is a home-wrecker…girl’s hott. Yes….jealousy ensues.

just to point out…the outfit i came back home in this morning was pineapple boxers and a bloomberg t-shirt. honestly….To further my embarrassment, some schmuk was having a FAMILY GATHERING in the lobby of my building. just GREAT. 

capital funk show-case was amazing: i have decided that when i form my own dance crew im going to call it “d$’s hunnies.” mike said he would never join. oh well his loss b/c we are going to be a-m-a-z-i-n-g

highlight of today: “made of honor” aka the chick flick of the season, followed by drinks on the waterfront. im loving it!  

I wash my car, then it rains and it gets dirty. Repeat process twice a month upon which I now have given up on driving a clean benz.sorry benzers, please forgive and forget.

I also have been unable to change my cali plates to my va ones. Dilemma about what to say if I get pulled over: “officer I have my plates its just my boyfriend refuses to put it on for me… ” or the more realistic “officer…I don’t know how to operate a power screwdriver…I’m womaning up to my downfalls.” Sound believable?

7 more hrs to go before mcfads happy hour and briannas dance performance. Watching capital funk I can pretend I have flava instead of that rigid balletness that I haven’t been able to get past after all those dance classes. Russians can shake their groove thang too!
